Needle Lipolysis (Regional Slimming):
Dissolving the fat by applying drugs in the form of injection into the adipose tissue is called needle lipolysis. This method is called Lipo-dissolve, Lipo-stable or meso-treatment. In this method, phosphatidylcholine (PC) and deoxycholate (DC) are used as drugs. These are already present in the human body. They break down fats and cholesterol in the body. They are drugs that we have used for high blood fat diseases and administered intravenously for a long time. DC is bile salt and increases the water solubility of PC.
Phosphatidylcholine(PC); It has a glycerophospholipid structure and is obtained from soybeans. Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is the most important of the cell membrane lipids. It is necessary for the synthesis of prostaglandins, leukotrienes, thromboxane. It is also the main source of choline synthesis in acetylcholine. It increases the solubility of cholesterol and prevents it from returning to plaque form. It increases the production of VLDL from the liver. When applied to adipose tissue, it increases the solubility of fat in water, lipase activity increases and triglyceride turns into fatty acids and glycerol. PC stimulates β-receptors and inhibits α2-receptors. With these effects, fats are separated by lipolysis in the adipose tissue and excreted in the GI tract and urine.
Sodium Deoxycholate(DC); It is a bile salt and increases the solubility of PC in adipose tissue. With this effect, when applied to the adipose tissue, it causes the destruction of fat cells.
When used together with PC/DC, it is 50/20 per ml.
The application is applied to a depth of 13 mm with 2 cm intervals, using 0.4 cc in each application.
The application is made every week.
There is pain during the application. The pain is mild where there is thin subcutaneous adipose tissue, whereas it is more where the subcutaneous adipose tissue is thick.
When PC/DC is applied to adipose tissue together; vacuolization occurs in fat cells, acute and chronic inflammation occurs in septa and fat lobules in adipose tissue.
It can be used together with melilotus, aminophylline, yohimbine and isoproterenol, which have other lipolytic effects.
It is used in areas of fat deposition with a volume of less than 100 – 150 ml, lipomas and many lipomas, and deformities that occur after liposuction.
It cannot be used for under 18 years of age, pregnancy, breastfeeding, use of anticoagulants, serious systemic diseases, active infection, allergies to drugs used.
Side effects;
Immediately after the application, pain, erythema, itching, temperature increase and edema develop in the application area. It gets there in 15 minutes to 72 hours. Sensitivity at the application sites sometimes lasts 1 time.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, menstrual irregularities are observed especially at doses above 1200 mg.
