What is Cold Lipolysis (cool shape), how does it work?
It is a non-invasive regional thinning method that does not harm other surrounding structure-tissues, such as needle or other surgical methods that lead to controlled disintegration of adipose tissue (programmed cell death). Due to their structure, fat cells are not as resistant to cold or other physical traumas as other tissues (skin, collagen, elastin, vessels, nerve cells, etc.). As it has been shown in many studies, since the cell structures of the fat cells exposed to cold deteriorate, they are excreted by the body through the lymph and urine circulation with a programmed cell death called apoptosis within about 2 months.
What are the features that distinguish Cryolipolysis from other non-invasive or minimally (very little) invasive methods?
While other methods (heating, physical trauma, injection, etc.) directly cause necrotic (instantaneous cell death or fragmentation) cell death, cold lipolysis creates programmed cell death, which we call apoptosis. The most obvious difference is that while no damage is observed in the surrounding tissues in apoptosis, damage can also be seen in the surrounding structures in necrotic cell death. For this reason, Cryolipolysis seems to be a more reliable method.
Who is Cold Lipolysis suitable for?
Cryolipolysis is an effective treatment method for fat melting in targeted areas. The primary purpose of cold lipolysis is never weight loss on the scale. It is an ideal regional slimming method for excesses in areas that do not melt with exercise or diet.
What are the advantages of Cryolipolysis?
As a non-invasive (non-invasive) method, cold lipolysis has many advantages over other regional thinning techniques and treatments. These are;
Dramatic and lasting results,
No recovery time required
It is painless and does not require anesthesia,
Obtaining safe and natural results,
Ability to give results without the need for diet and exercise (more effective results when supported)
Being the latest technology
Efficacy proven by clinical studies,
Absence of any side effects,
Observation of 26% reduction in fat layer after a single treatment,
Effective results even with a single session (can be done in 2-3 sessions with 1 month intervals),
It has many advantages such as close to 100% patient satisfaction.
How is the procedure applied?
The area where the procedure will be applied is vacuumed by the 2 nozzles in the device and cooled down to -10 degrees for 1 hour. Fat cells exposed to cold are removed from the body by a metabolic process similar to that in the fatty foods we consume. A more natural and firmer appearance is obtained, as the fat cells in the treated area undergo a programmed death in a certain sequence.
What is the total processing time?
Cryolipolysis may require 2 or more hours depending on the size of the target area (1 hour for each area).
When do results start to be noticed?
The results of the cold lipolysis start to appear from the 3rd week and the full effectiveness continues until the end of the 2nd month. It is also reported in some publications that the event can last up to 6 months. Although the results are not as noticeable in the early period as liposuction or laser lipolysis, the absence of side effects such as pain, long recovery times, risk of infection, etc. provides a great advantage. Most of the patients who have cold lipolysis are very satisfied with their new fit and natural appearance. There are many studies on the effectiveness of cold lipolysis, it is thought to be as effective as liposuction in terms of permanence.
Are there any risks to the treatment?
Because cold lipolysis is a non-surgical method, it has less risks compared to other fat removal treatments. Cryolipolysis is considered a completely safe technology. Reddish (erythematous) and bruised areas of the skin may be observed in the treated areas, and although numbness may occur in these areas, none of these side effects are permanent.
Who can not be applied this treatment?
Those with impaired liver functions,
Those with Raynaud's syndrome
Urticaria (hives) patients,
Patients with cryoglobulinemia (high level of insoluble-insoluble white blood cells),
Those with low blood protein levels (hypoproteinemia)
Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria (cold reaction in blood cells-immunoglobulin disease) patients,
People with a history of severe frostbite,
severe diabetes patients
persons under the age of 18,
Those who are in pregnancy, lactation periods,
Application is not recommended for those who have irritation or skin disease in the application area.
What happens to fat cells?
Fat cells, which are exposed to the cooling process and freeze, go into apoptosis state, which is programmed cell death, because their structures are deteriorated. Meaning of programmed cell death; the disappearance of fat cells, which are thought to be unnecessary for the body, in a certain order.
