Skin Spots and Enzymatic Peeling: Cosmelan - Dermamelan
Melanin is the substance produced by cells called melanocytes and gives our skin its color. Melanin pigments are present in more than normal amounts in the areas where spotting occurs. So why is more melanin produced in spots areas? The most important reason for this is the sun, namely ultraviolet (UV) rays. Because the task of melanin is to give the skin its color, as well as to protect the subcutaneous tissues from UV rays. For this reason, as a result of intense UV exposure or accumulation over the years, spotting may occur in genetically predisposed individuals. On the other hand, pregnancy, drugs, some diseases and cosmetics can cause spotting by increasing light sensitivity.
Types of dark spots;
Melasma (chloasma, pregnancy mask): Use of birth control pills (OCS) or hormonal changes during pregnancy can cause overproduction of melanin. As a result, spots of different sizes may occur in areas such as forehead, upper nose, cheek, upper lip and chin.
Photo-allergic reactions: Some drugs and cosmetics taken orally or applied locally may cause spotting by increasing the UV sensitivity of melanin.
Sun and solarium: As a result of being under the influence of sun rays or solarium, the skin becomes thicker to protect itself and increases the production of melanin. The simplest example of this is tanning. However, as we mentioned above, spotting may occur with increased sensitivity due to genetic predisposition or the drugs used at that time.
Freckle: These congenital spots, which are most commonly seen on the forehead, nose, cheeks and chin, can be light or dark brown in color. While it generally becomes prominent in sunny seasons, its important features are that its colors fade in the seasons when the sun's effect is low.
Solar lentigo (age spots): They occur in advanced ages because they are formed as a result of the long-term (accumulation over years) effect of the sun. However, it can also occur at a young age in light-skinned people who are exposed to intense sunlight. They can be seen in various sizes, colors ranging from light brown to black, and in various diameters and shapes.
Wound-burn-pimple healing or post-inflammatory spots on the skin: While the wounds heal, they may leave dark spots. Those with darker skin tones are more at risk.
What is Ezimatic Peeling (cosmelan - dermamelan) and how does it work?
Cosmelan and Dermamelan are one of the most effective methods used in the treatment of all spots.
Cosmelan and dermamelan suppress the production of melanin in the skin at the enzymatic level, preventing overproduction, and thus, while the formed spots are removed by peeling, melanin production is also normalized as enzymatic suppression continues during the treatment.
Cosmelan and Dermamelan also have a peeling effect, but do not contain Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) and other peeling acids. Therefore, the risk of side effects is very, very low. Another advantage of spot treatment with these products is that it causes much less discomfort than other peeling methods and can be applied to any skin type in any season.
Its effects on the skin are redness and slight peeling. Sometimes, edema can also be seen in sensitive skin. In general, a response rate of 80-95% is received within 1-4 weeks.
As a result, it helps you to have a brand new skin that is brighter, refreshed, pores are tightened, scars are relieved, oil balance is regulated and free from all spots in a few months.

How is Cosmelan and Dermamelan treatment applied?
Cosmelan and Dermamelan is an application that can remove blemishes on the skin in a single session.
After the skin examination, it is decided which spot treatment will be done. Each kit (box) is for one-person application. After the skin is thoroughly cleaned with the purifying solution included in the kit, the cream-based Cosmelan 1 or Dermamelan mask is applied to the face. It is left on the skin for 8-12 hours depending on the person's phototype. At the end of this period, the skin is cleaned by washing the skin with a soap with a suitable pH without rubbing it. Peeling, which starts from the 2nd day, lasts about 7-14 days and intense moisturizing and sunscreens are used until the peeling ends. After the peelings are over, the treatment is continued for 4-6 months with Cosmelan 2 or Dermamelan follow-up cream. According to the condition of the spots, the use of cream is adjusted in consultation with the patient. As long as the follow-up cream is used, sunscreens are also continued. Because the most important step of treatment is sun protection. Even after all applications are completed (4-5 months), a cream with a high sun protection factor should be used continuously during the day and a cream with a spot lightening feature in the evenings, especially in the summer season when the sun is effective. People with spot problems should definitely pay attention to protection measures, otherwise it should be noted that spots may recur. :(
